Hugo Habercore is a recurring antagonist in the animated series Bob's Burgers. He is a vindictive health inspector who frequently tries to shut down protagonist Bob Belcher's restaurant to punish him for marrying Linda, the love of his life.
He was voiced by Sam Seder.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He abuses the authority of his position as city health inspector to avenge what he feels are personal slights against him.
- He regularly tries to shut down Bob Belcher's restaurant, Bob's Burgers, on spurious claims of code violations, all to punish Bob for marrying his ex-girlfriend, Linda.
- He is obsessed with Linda to the point of creepiness, even though Linda obviously does not return his feelings.
- He is rude and dismissive to his fellow health inspector Ron, even though Ron, who unlike Hugo is good friend to Bob, is much better at his job due being serious and professional.
- He is egotistical and self-important about his job, dubbing himself "the thin green line between the diners of this town and gastrointestinal catastrophe".
- He buys the love tester machine that Bob wants to give Linda for her birthday so Bob can't have it, and charges him $50 to get it back.
- He threatens to close Bob down unless he participates in a sting operation against a meat supplier thought to selling horse meat.
- He takes cruel pleasure in humiliating Sam when he fails a health inspection.
