Somebody's been telling stories outside of class.
~ Blaire upon catching Waylon attempting to expose Murkoff's crimes.

Jeremy Blaire is a major antagonist in the Outlast serie, serving as an unseen bigger bad in the first game, the main antagonist of the DLC Outlast Whistleblower, and a major character in The Murkoff Account. He is a Murkoff Corporation executive who worked on the Walrider project in Mount Massive Asylum.

He was voiced by Matt Holland.

What Makes Him A Hate Sink?[]

  • On his orders, Mount Massive Asylum was used as a front to acquire human test subjects under false pretenses for an extended period of time. As a result, the asylum's patients, even those who sought genuine mental help, are physically and psychologically tortured to the point of insanity and used as test subjects for the Morphogenic Engine Program. Blaire's greedy desire to continue experimenting on patients would inevitably trigger the Mount Massive Asylum Incident.
  • While most patients die from Murkoff's experiments, he orders the few who survive to be used as hosts of the Walrider: an extremely powerful entity which serves as a collective swarm of nanites that can be controlled by brainwashed test subjects through lucid dreaming. Blaire intended to assist Murkoff in intending use the Walrider as a weapon.
  • Despite the catastrophic effect Murkoff's experiments have on women, he showed interest in acquiring female patients for the sake of extra profit.
  • He has no problem throwing his own employees into the Morphogenic Engine Program for potentially harming the company. This included Chris Walker (a violent serial killer who would become one of the asylum's most infamous Variants) and Richard Trager (his own best friend, even if he was as depraved as him).
    • He also planned about using Walker as a weapon due to his incredible resistance to bullets.
  • Upon catching one of his employees, Waylon Park, spreading informations about Murkoff, he had him arrested and brought to the Morphogenic Engine like he did with Walker and Trager.
  • He also taunts him by throwing his computer and telling him putting the corporation in trouble was stupid, and most of all crazy.
  • It says in a document that he asked his employee Helen Grant to tell Lisa Park, Waylon's wife, that her husband had mental problems and was hired test subject.
  • He also says that if she keeps calling, he will "contact her personnatly", which means that he would might try to get rid of her as well.
  • During the events of Outlast and Whistleblower, he does everything in his power to ensure that no one escapes the asylum alive except for himself so he that he and Murkoff can evade moral and legal consequences for their atrocities. He even personally destroys the radio which Waylon was going use to call authorities for help and tries to kill him by strangling him only for eventually leaving him to die once Chris Walker breaks into the security room.
  • When he was lying injured in the main hall while Waylon was about to escape, he hypocritically asked him to help him and that he will do the same, while he nearly killed him few hours ago.
  • After Waylon got pass him, he cowardly stabbed him in the stomach and claimed that no one must know the truth.
  • He is perfectly sane and is shown to have no redeeming qualities or any sort of Freudian excuse or tragedy.
  • Overall, he is the one responsible for the events of the first game as he knew the effects the machine had on others, but didn't care about it as long as he profited of it, meaning he is responsible for almost all of the asylum's patients turning into psychotic murderers and torturers, with him being fully aware of his actions, but not caring so long as he can prevent the word of it happening from getting out.
