Jimmy Crystal, commonly known as Mr. Crystal, is the main antagonist of Illumination's 11th animated feature film, Sing 2, the second installment of the Sing franchise.
He is a bossy and arrogant Arctic wolf who serves as the head of Crystal Entertainment and the owner and CEO of Crystal Tower Hotel and Theater. He is also Porsha's estranged father, Jerry and Suki Lane's former boss, and Buster Moon's arch-nemesis.
He was voiced by Bobby Cannavale.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is a terrible father to Porsha and doesn't care for her.
- While he may have started off respecting her, as he gave Moon a second chance by not throwing him out the window (like he said he would) after finding out Buster lied to him about knowing Clay Calloway, due to her being in it, he clearly no longer has any care or respect for her in the end.
- He is shown to be quite sadistic, bad tempered, and slightly unhinged, as seen when Porsha got "fired".
- He cares more about his own professional image and reputation than the feelings of his upset daughter, as he blamed her for "getting fired" and how that would damage his public image, showing that he cares for no one but himself.
- He is a Bad Boss to Buster Moon, as during the second half of movie after finding out that Moon had lied about Clay Calloway's involvement in the musical, he outright threatens to harm Moon if the latter doesn't deliver his promise by the end of next week.
- While he isn't a Bad Boss to Jerry or his security guards on the other hand, it's not clear whether he genuinely cares for them or not.
- He attempts to kill Buster Moon by throwing him off the roof and dropping him from the top of the catwalk, only not doing so in the former due to Jerry informing him that he needs to do the interview on TV, and failing to do so in the latter thanks to Rosita.
- He insults the main crew on TV.
- He is very thoughtless, to the point that he inadvertently exposed his villainous actions as well as his true, sadistic personality while trying to kill Buster Moon in front of an entire audience, never giving any thoughts into this at all.
- He shows no shame or remorse for his misdeeds or crimes whatsoever.
- Overall, he's an abusive boss, an abusive parent, a would-be murderer, and a two-faced glory hog who has no redeeming qualities in the slightest.
