Joseph Pratt Sr., better known as Joe Pratt, is the overarching antagonist of Crossed: Family Values.
He is the patriarch of the Pratt family and owner of his horse breeding ranch, who believed to be a man of faith who deeply loved his family, but had no problem in abusing his family and raping his daughters, with the exception of his oldest daughter Adaline.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He raped Joyce after she became his wife, as mentioned multiple times by her after she became infected with the C-Virus.
- He raped his daughters and abused the rest of his family, most notably his daughter Emily, whom he raped and then had his oldest son Joseph Pratt Jr. rape her as well.
- While he didn't rape his oldest daughter Adaline, it was only because he was afraid of her and saw her as "the Devil".
- When Adaline asked him to stop raping Emily, he beat her up and tried to rape her, and only didn't because his men told him that they needed his help.
- While he did save Adaline, it was only out of pragmatic reasons as he knew she could be useful in the future.
- After creating a community named The New Paradise, he started raping several women to impregnate them and killed anyone who was against him.
- He raped his daughter Kayleen, who was a minor, to impregnate her. This caused Kayleen to try to get killed by a crossed, causing her to become infected, which would make her eat her child after she gave birth.
- He raped his daughter Hannah, which caused her to get pregnant.
- After Adaline found out about what happened to Kayleen and tried to kill him, Joe beated, raped, and tried to kill Adaline before Joyce infected herself with the C-virus to save Adaline and killed him.
- Despite being nowhere heinous enough to stand out in Crossed, Joe is easily the most heinous and evil normal human in the comics due to the fact that he raped his daughters and killed anyone who was against him.
Trivia[]
- He is one of the few characters in the Crossed series to qualify as a Hate Sink, due to many of them being people affected by the C-Virus and not truly evil themselves.
- Even though Joe Pratt is extremely heinous and lacks redeeming qualities, he cannot count as Pure Evil due to the fact that Crossed has an astronomically high heinous standard that no one, with the exception of Beauregard Salt, can meet. Were he was in a different fictional work, he would have been Pure Evil.
