| ~ Joker after raping Jonny's ex-wife. |
The Joker is the one of two main antagonists (alongside Enchantress) of the Damned Batman comics, serving as the titular main antagonist of the 2008 graphic novel Joker and the overarching antagonist of the Batman: Damned mini-series, first with DC Black Label. He is a somewhat darker and more realistic depiction of the traditional Joker who is bent on reclaiming his criminal empire.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Unlike his other counterparts, this Joker is a disgusting perverted creep and has no comedic moments or evil is cool ones.
- After escaping from Arkham Asylum, he sadistically massacres multiple people (innocents and gangsters) while rebuilding his criminal empire.
- First, he skinned Monty, one of his henchmen for not keeping a stronghold on Joker's reputation while he was locked away.
- Murdered an elderly couple in bed, then sleeps on said bed with their bloody corpses right under the blanket.
- Forced Two-Face and the Penguin to work for him, otherwise he will feed Penguin to a baboon and Two-Face to Killer Croc.
- He stabbed one of his henchmen to death with a broken glass bottle in a childish tamper tantrum.
- He raped Jonny's ex-wife, Shelly as punishment for Johnny nearly selling him out to Two-Face and then cruelly taunting them afterwards by asking Jonny if it makes them even after telling Killer Croc to drop Shelly off somewhere and give her some money.
- He sets the streets of Gotham on fire.
- While he was somewhat polite to Jonny in the beginning, that gets completely subverted in the end when he hits and shoots him in the chin just for being boring.
Trivia[]
- This version of Joker is so far one of (if not) the darkest depiction of the character, as the author made it clear that this Joker was designed specifically to reverse the most idealized features of the original one. Even his sense of humor is way more crass and sick than his usual depiction.
- He and the Injustice counterpart are so far the only versions of Joker to be Hate Sinks, as unlike most other versions of the character (including his Injustice counterpart), he's hardly played for laughs and specifically designed to be detestable.
