Josh is the main antagonist of Megan is missing. He is the abductor, rapist, torturer and murderer of Megan Stewart and Amy Herman.

What Makes him a Hate Sink?

• He has likely killed the real Josh to steal his identity.
  • This is evidenced when he tells Amy that his name is not Josh, which makes it certain that he did kill the real Josh.
• He met Megan online to kidnap her and lure her into his trap behind the diner.
• He tortured and killed Megan after he kidnapped her.
• After Megan goes missing, Amy keeps telling the police about Megan’s whereabouts, which leads “Josh” to get angry at Amy and threatening to silence her if she kept “yapping” to the police.
  • The police themselves failed to provide any and all protection for Amy, which led to her eventual demise.
• He kidnapped Amy under a bridge.
• His most disgusting thing he did was force Amy to eat dog food in (presumably) his basement.
• He pretended to show remorse to Amy by pretending to let her go and then shows Amy her best friend Megan’s dead corpse, leaving Amy horrified.
• He buried Megan and Amy in the bush.
• Overall, he is just a disgusting and irredeemable monster with absolutely no redeeming qualities.
• It’s likely that after he killed Josh, Megan, and Amy, he would later go on to kill more children. And given that he befriended Megan’s friend Lex, we can assume that she would be his next victim.
