Kevin C. Cucumber is a character from SpongeBob SquarePants. He is the main antagonist of the episode "I'm Your Biggest Fanatic", and also plays a large role in the episode "Patrick the Mailman". He is the former leader of the Jellyspotters, a renowned jellyfishing club.
He is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who also voiced Le Spatula in the same show.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He acts very rude and dismissive of SpongeBob when he introduces himself to Kevin as a fan (though in fairness, SpongeBob was being rather creepy).
- He tells SpongeBob to punch himself in the face, just to see if he will do it. Though he does express surprise when SpongeBob does so, asking "Doesn't that hurt you?", his later actions indicate this is not out of any actual concern. In fact, just before this, he tells SpongeBob to jump off a building.
- He lies that he will allow SpongeBob to join the Jellyspotters if he can pass a series of tests, which is really just an excuse to take SpongeBob jellyfishing with them to "see how many times he can get stung before he runs home crying like a baby".
- He makes SpongeBob carry him and his five anchovy friends to Jellyfish Fields.
- He spreads jellyfish jelly all over SpongeBob's face so a bunch of jellyfish will come to eat it off of his face and sting him all over, displaying sadistic glee at the thought of SpongeBob getting stung all over his face.
- After SpongeBob passes various tests with flying colors, Kevin and his anchovy friends tie him up and give him a whistle that makes a "Loser" call when blown. Kevin lies to SpongeBob that this is the call to attract a Queen Jellyfish. The Jellyspotters proceed to leave SpongeBob tied up all day trying to call a Queen Jellyfish for the group to catch. The Jellyspotters return at dusk piloting a Queen Jellyfish robot which they use to zap SpongeBob and chase him all around Jellyfish Fields until he's cornered on a cliff, after which, they reveal the deception and that they never intended to let SpongeBob join the club. They also reveal that they trapped eleven other Jellyspotter fans at the bottom of the cliff, including Fred and Tom (which raises the possibility that they were going to trap SpongeBob down there as well). Kevin and his anchovy friends go on to laugh at SpongeBob and call him a loser.
- He reveals that he isn't even an actual jellyfishing enthusiast, having only joined the group for the fashion.
- He pathetically sits down and starts begging for his mommy and his blanky when he, the anchovies, and SpongeBob are cornered by King Jellyfish.
- Even after SpongeBob saves him and the other Jellyspotters from King Jellyfish, Kevin still refuses to let him join because he didn't actually catch a Queen Jellyfish. This disgusts even the anchovies, who tear off Kevin's crown (actually part of his body) and name SpongeBob their new leader. Though SpongeBob turns them down, it's unlikely Kevin retained his leadership (if he even was allowed to remain a member at all) considering how disgusted the anchovies were with him.
- When Patrick and SpongeBob attempt to deliver the mail, he refuses a jury duty summons they attempt to give him, which is illegal. He goes to great efforts to try and refuse the summons. While it turns out that the summons was actually for Bubble Bass, Kevin did not know this at first. Furthermore, when he sees that it is for Bubble Bass, he tears it up instead of giving it back to SpongeBob and Patrick and telling them to deliver it to Bubble Bass, meaning that he destroyed someone else's jury duty summons and thus tampered with the mail, which is also illegal.
- He later destroys another jury duty summons for Bubble Bass that he finds on the ground instead of taking it to him or at least reporting it.
- While he did come off as sympathetic for most of the episode "Mooned," he subverts it by betraying SpongeBob and trying to take all the credit for catching the Moon Jellyfish.
- Unlike even Bubble Bass and Flats the Flounder, other enemies of SpongeBob who served as massive jerks in their episodes, Kevin is never shown to have any humanizing moments or relationships whatsoever, and was not present at SpongeBob's birthday in SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout.
- Overall, Kevin is a nerdy, jerkish, ungrateful poseur who has no respect for his fans and is not above committing federal offenses.
