King Aldrich Leviathan is one of the two overarching antagonists of the 2019 Disney Channel animated series Amphibia.
He is the father of King Andrias and the previous ruler of Amphibia. He is also the main reason why Andrias became a cruel tyrant.
He was voiced by William Houston, who also portrayed Joseph Crackstone in Wednesday.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He was abusive towards Andrias and gaslit him into thinking that his childhood friends will betray him. Even after becoming part of The Core, he still continues to manipulate his son into becoming a ruthless tyrant just like him.
- He planned to commit genocide against humanity during his son's invasion on Earth, which even shocks the latter.
- He ignored Leif's warnings about the dangers of misusing the Calamity Box.
- After all Andrias' attempts to earn his approval, he says that he is "almost" proud of him, which is just on words.
- After Marcy rejected joining The Core, he left her in an eternal void of darkness which would eventually erase her personality.
- He (presumably) tried to force Andrias to fight by attempting to brainwash him after his breakdown.
- After being defeated as The Core, he attempted to destroy Amphibia by colliding an artificial moon with the planet along with his ancestors, even with his own son Andrias still on the planet.
- He is also a coward, as he begged Andrias to help him when The Core was close to defeat and panicked when his son crushes him as his crown. As retaliation against Andrias, he even works to thrust the moon even faster toward Amphibia to kill him as well after he makes a stand against Aldrich.
- He is incredibly selfish and doesn't care about anyone but himself, including his ancestors and his son Andrias. Not to mention that he only treats Andrias as his pawn instead of his son for his own selfish gains.
- He ultimately has no redeeming qualities and comedic moments, even being more loathsome than the Core itself, as the latter still has plenty of “evil is cool” and comedic moments.
