King Boom Boo is the main protagonist of Tails' Halloween story told by him in episode 9 of TailsTube, "Scary Story Spooktacular". According to it, the king of the Boos haunting Eggman's pyramid base was once a human king who sought to obtain the key to immortality at any cost, even others' lives.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Unlike his canon counterpart, who completely lacks a personality besides being sadistic and mischievous (shown as laughing merrily when causing harm to others), but thus isn't hateable, this version of him is shown to be greedy and selfish, with no hint of redeeming qualities.
- He attempted to obtain the amulet that would grant him eternal life, so that his legacy would be eternal. To do it, he headed into the pyramid where the amulet was kept with his loyal knights, and showed no care as his men were dragged into the darkness one by one.
- To make matters worse, it's implied that the king's knights genuinely cared for him, as they tried to warn him about the fate he was heading for even after becoming ghosts, but he still showed no remorse for getting them killed.
- Although his fate of becoming a ghost bound to the pyramid is a horrific fate worse than death, he completely deserves it for his crimes and it's not played for sympathy.
