Kivas Fajo is the main antagonist of the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Most Toys." He is a trader who seeks to collect rare and valuable items, and sets his sights on owning the android Data, having him kidnapped from the Enterprise.
He was played by Saul Rubinek.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He's a sadistic man who has stolen many valuable items from their rightful owners.
- He lacks any likable traits and is shown to be an arrogant, childish bully who mistreats anyone who works for him.
- He poisons the water supply of an inhabited planet as part of his plan to capture Data.
- He fakes Data's death in a shuttle explosion and kidnaps him, treating him as an object, referring to him as "it" and demanding that Data entertain him and his guests.
- Though he claims to have had a tragic past, claiming he was an impoverished child, he admits seconds later that he was making the story up and has no excuse for his actions.
- He threatens his servant Varria with a lethal disruptor, which inflicts a slow, agonizing death, if Data disobeys him.
- He murders Varria with the disruptor for helping Data in an escape attempt. He then blames Data for her death and orders him to obey him or he will kill more people, which convinces Data that Fajo is too dangerous to be kept alive, and he tries to kill Fajo before being beamed out.
