Louis D'Anjou Offended
MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! - WARNING: Louis d'Anjou is warning you that this page contains spoilers. If you hadn't seen/played this Hate Sink's media yet, we advise you to view another page.

The diplomats from Snezhnaya promised a very generous reward indeed... and all they requested of me in return was to see that the Vision Hunt Decree is upheld. For too long, the Kujou Clan's position has been coveted by so many. There is no shortage of clans who would tear us down at the first opportunity. So, when the chance arose to gain the backing of another powerful nation and crack down on our enemies at the same time, It appeared to me to be an excellent deal. I simply saw no need to inform you, Sara.
~ Kujou Takayuki admitting his dealings with the Fatui

Kujou Takayuki is a major antagonist in the 2020 role-playing game Genshin Impact, serving as the overall main antagonist of the Inazuma Archon Quests, serving as the overarching antagonist of the first act of Chapter II, The Immoval God and Eternal Euthymia and the second act Stillness, the Sublimation of Shadow, before becoming the main antagonist of the third act, Omnipresence Over Mortals. He is the corrupt Tenryou Commissioner of the Shogunate and the head of the Kujou Clan until the end of Omnipresence Over Mortals who forged an alliance with the Fatui who plan to subjugate the Nation of Eternity and form a black market for Delusions.

He was voiced by June Yoon in the English version.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

  • Abused his adoptive daughter, Kujou Sara, by punishing a group of soldiers who were socializing with her, for "pointless fratenizing", despite having adopted and raised her to be loyal to the Shogun.
  • In a lost text at Higi Village, it is stated that he tried to commit genocide against its inhabitants by telling the soldiers to kill every villager on sight and blaming it on the Watatsumi Army, despite the whole situation being Fridge Horror.
    • He even threatened to kill more of the villagers for assisting "traitors" when Gongozaemon and Yamada, whom he sent on an expedition, didn't come back to him.
  • When his younger son, Kujou Masahito, warned him for the Tatarigami's destructive influence, he believed that he was making excuses for his own incompetence, and threatened to have him demoted in favor of Kujou Sara. This would later come to bite him in the back when his very own creation using the Tatarigami's power, the Mikage Furnace, had a meltdown as the entire cavern had to be shut off due to the radioactive waste.
  • Only supports the Raiden Shogun for her offensive prowess, especially the Musou no Hitotachi, but not as a person out of cowardice against her judgment for his act of backstabbing and manipulating her to pass on the Vision Hunt and Sakoku Decrees.
  • A year before the Traveler went to Inazuma, he forged a collusion with the Fatui so that they could cause chaos in the Nation of Eternity in exchange for maintaining power.
  • After allying himself with the Fatui, he infamously accepted their offer to create a black market for Delusions in Inazuma by passing on a Vision Hunt Decree to encourage more people to use Delusions and tbe Sakoku Decree to monopolize the Delusions' supply chain. This would eventually lead to a civil war in Inazuma on a massive scale, damaging his nation's economy in the long term. Not helping matters is that he manipulated Ei and the Shogun to ratify said decrees on the pretense that he was completely innocent.
    • The Watatsumi Army, who were already opposing the Shogun for her action of killing their resident deity, Orobaxi, had their conflict against them worsened for a couple of months due to the enforcing of the Vision Hunt Decree, leading to the Fatui, who were profiting of both sides of the conflict, tricking them in supplying Delusions to them, which led to the death of an arrogant and power-hungry soldier named Teppei, whose death led the Traveler to avenge him by going off to the Delusion Factory by himself.
    • Kaedehara Kazuha was branded a fugitive for refusing to submit his friend's Vision to the Shogun after his friend was executed for losing the duel against Kujou Sara before the throne with the intention of telling the Shogun to rescind the Vision Hunt Decree, which would be accomplished by the Traveler, Ei's close friend Yae Miko and the Yashiro Commission, who were belligerents since the conflict begun.
    • And since Visions are a physical manifestation of a person's ambition, having the Visions removed from their users would definitely result in their ambitions being completely stripped, and Kujou Takayuki is most likely aware of said fact, since he didn't remove his allies' visions so that they could continue to support his ambitions of enforcing the decree.
    • Also, said conflict has gone to the point where Kujou Sara even ordered the Sbogunate prison guards to stop torturing Master Masakatsu, who was apprehended for distributing fake Visions, as her first act of questioning the decree.
  • When Sara confronted him about his treasonous behavior towards the Shogun, even Paimon, who is a poor judge of character, called him out for his lack of true loyalty towards the Shogun, and for his huge ego as he tried to preach the values of loyalty to cover up his own narcissism.
  • Only killed Takatsukasa Isamu when he attempted to take over the Tenryou Commission just to maintain his good publicity.
  • Overall, his actions have brought serious damage to not only all of Inazuma, but also the Kujou Clan, as his actions left them victim towards usurpation attempts from his pawns and Matsuura, who plans to stop Kamisato Ayato from preventing the marriage between Chisato and Kamaji so that he could assimilate the political clans for his personal gain. Even so, he wasn't played for sympathy unlike Scaramouche or the Tsaritsa, carries no Evil Is Cool moments unlike Enjou or Childe and isn't even taken comically compared to Matsuura, during his climatic argument with Ayato.
