Kurt Kunkle, also known as The Rideshare Killer is the main villain protagonist of the 2020 thriller Spree. He is an egotistical psychopath that believes he isn't getting the attention he deserves, so as a last ditch effort to gain followers on his dying social media accounts, he comes up with a plan to murder people and stream their deaths as a way to differentiate himself from other content creators.
He was portrayed by Joe Keery in his first villainous role.
What Makes Him Hateable[]
- Due to feeling like he wasn't getting the fame he deserved, he came up with a plan to murder people and livestream it to make himself stand out.
- Killed his mother, and later father too for no reason other then sadism, while also denying to his father that he killed her.
- Fed Richard and Kendra alive to a pack of junkyard dogs, while killing London by drilling into her skull, smiling as he does all of this.
- Fed poisoned water to a DJ named uNo, which knocked her out, and after she recovered from it, she accidentally ends up killing a police officer, meaning Kurt has pretty much ruined her life because of his selfish actions.
- Drives through a homeless camp during a car chase, telling his viewers that no one would care if anyone who lived there died.
- Killed Davit, who unknowingly helped Kurt escape the police, before taking his car and driving to Jessie's comedy act.
- Not even Jessie's speech about popularity changed him, proving how much of a selfish psychopath Kurt really is.
- After abducting Jessie, he launches a "fuck, marry, kill" poll for his viewers. "Kill" ends up getting the most votes, but Kurt adding the other two options heavily implies he is not above rape.
- Even after everything he did, Kurt still got what he wanted even in death as he is idolized on 4chan, and many other websites, with many people praising his murder spree and saying "who should be the next Kurt Kunkle"
- Everyone in universe despises him, even his own parents and Bobby who was supposedly his only friend for over 10 years.
