Kyosuke Higuchi is the main antagonist of the Yotsuba Arc of Death Note.

Kyosuke Higuchi is a businessman in Yotsuba group who is given a Death Note by Rem. With the Death Note, Kyosuke Higuchi uses it to kill business companies to further the growth of Yotsuba while killing criminals to maintain a façade of justice. Upon meeting Misa Amane, Higuchi seeks to turn her into his wife, so he can use Misa Amane's Shinigami Eyes.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?

• Upon obtaining the Death Note from Rem, Kyosuke Higuchi uses it to kill business companies to further the growth of Yotsuba while maintaining the façade of enforcing justice.
• Kills Arayoshi Hatori when he attempts to leave the secret meetings of the Yotsuba Group showing his pettiness.
• Lusts over Misa Amane and plans to use her Shinigami Eyes to kill anyone who gets in his way.
• Plans to marry Misa Amane, so he can steal all of her property.
• Killed a police officer when he got pulled over for speeding.
• Attempted to kill Touta Matsuda to prevent himself from being exposed as Kira.
• Acted as an innocent businessman that wants to meet Hitoshi Demegawa before attempting to kill Wedy.
• Despite being less heinous than Light Yagami, he lacks Light Yagami's intelligence and the qualities that made Light Yagami likable to the audience.
• He is incredibly stupid, and is possibly the least intelligent among all the Kiras:
  • He didn't even notice the camera set in his conference room, which Light could easily find out. As a result, all the evidence of his killings are exposed to L directly by the camera.
  • When Aiber disguised as Eraldo Coil scammed a large amount of money from Yotsuba, he never doubted whether Aiber was a spy, even after Shimura pointed it out.
  • He exposed his identity to Misa Amane by openly saying he is Kira. When Misa returned with the recording, he didn't realize anything was wrong.
  • His three fellow Yotsuba members Namikawa, Mido and Namikawa easily guessed that he is the Kira in Yotsuba.
  • He was easily tricked by Matsuda (who is considered a dimwit too) who used false names, twice.

Trivia

• The reason why Ohba chose Higuchi to be the third Kira of the Yotsuba group was because unlike other members who were just more calculating and not so fit of personality for the Death Note, Higuchi was stated by author to be a foolish and very greedy person, purely into using the notebooks for no good intention except for the satisfaction of his own needs.
