L is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside O) of the animated web-series Alphabet Lore and a major antagonist in its sequel Number Lore.
He and O are ruthless bullies to F and N that would eventually lead to the latter two's friendship falling apart when he incriminates F for spelling out "frick", leading to his fall into villainy and would continue doing this to N when they are uppercase letters. He is the archenemy of F and N.
His character and voice were done by the series creator, Mike Salcedo.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He and O picked on N when they were lowercase, and after F responded they pushed him towards, R, I, C, and K, spelling out "frick" to make all the letters angry to him.
- In the New Timeline he and L are actually the only ones shown to beat F and N after the latter stand up to defend the former. This implies that the other letters didn't attack them and L and O were the only ones to outcast them.
- While he became a superhero, it's highly implied he only desires fame, as after getting him gem stolen he doesn't try to help the other letters to defeat F, something that both M and P did.
- Overall, he and O were responsible for all the events that occurred in Alphabet Lore, including the deaths of C, H, J, P, and X. Although N would change the timeline to prevent their deaths from happening, this does not change the fact that he traumatized N, as the latter still remembers when he bullied him.
- He and O never received any punishment for their crimes, making them Karma Houdinis'.
- Even when O mellowed out, L kept his grudge against F, going as far to try to kill him by launchin 1's ship in his cave while he was inside it. What makes him even more hateable is that he did this just because F laughed at his suffering, which while wrong is still a consequence of how L treated him.
- The other letters are disgusted by his attempt to kill F, with J,E,R and K being together to spell out jerk to call him one. This is despite J and E having attacked F as child, showing that L is the only letter to still hate F.
- Notably, O didn't laugh along with him and wasn’t shown angry when F derided them. O’s nicer personality in the new timeline and his friendships with the other vowels implies that L was a bad influence to him in the original timeline.
