Haha, you're trembling... Is it the cold, or just cowardice?
~ La Signora in her boss fight
I am a Snezhnayan diplomat. You know what happens if you lay a finger on me... I swear, if you strike me, I will make sure... The Fatui will make sure that your precious Inazuma... Stop! I order you! And you! Filthy rats... All of you!
~ La Signora's last words before being slain by the Raiden Shogun

Rosalyne-Kruzchka Lohefalter, also known as La Signora and previously known as the Crimson Witch of Embers, is a major antagonist in the action role-playing video game Genshin Impact, being the overall main antagonist for the first half of the game's main storyline. She was the Eighth of the Fatui Harbingers, joining the Fatui after Pierro recruited her, and she became the Crimson Witch of Flame to avenge her boyfriend, Rostam's death in the Cataclysm.

She is voiced in English by a currently unknown voice actress.

What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]

  • Orders the theft of the Holy Lyre der Himmel to undermine the Knight of Favonius' efforts to defeat a corrupted Dvalin in order to damage the Knights' credibility with Abyss threats.
  • Assaults Venti and the Traveler with her Cryo abilities. After Venti is downed, she kicks Venti down knowing that he was weak enough due to not receiving any apparent worship, with Venti even calling her her "invasive vermin," making her look like more of a traitor who betrayed Mondstadt for Snezhnaya than a hero to them, before snatching the Anemo Gnosis from him, as well as blaming Rostam's death on his late arrival to stop Durin, which is proven untrue as Rostam would have still died even if Barbatos arrived early or not, which was apparently what the changes done in the English localization were trying to reinforce in the narrative.
  • When confronted for her involvement in the Delusion plot, she replies by saying that the victims of the plot were merely "nobodies" and were "necessary sacrifices" for the Tsaritsa's dream.
  • Although she originally shows her standards for Scaramouche tormenting his subordinates condescendingly, claiming that he isn't better than anybody else, she subverts it by arrogantly declaring that the Shogun has no right to kill her as a diplomat, thinking that she should be spared aboved everyone else.
  • It is implied that she is aware of the implications of confining the Traveler to Ritou, stating that she's "merely lighting a little fire in this chaotic nation," pointing out that she only wants to capitalized on the chaos behind the Traveler being stuck on Ritou knowing that they would try to interfere in her plans.
  • Pretends to be ignorant towards her sinister plans within Inazuma while proceeding to dismiss the harm she brought to the other regions after being brought to Tenshukaku while stating that the Traveler could incite the Shogun's wrath for breaking in.
  • Upon defeat, she arrogantly attempts to charge at the Raiden Shogun in a similar way to how she tried to obtain the Anemo Gnosis from Venti, using her status as a Snezhnayan diplomat to convince the Raiden Shogun to spare her after she loses, only to be slain by the Shogun for losing the duel anyway.
    • Her downfall is even emphasized by the fact that her mask, which was obtained as a trophy from defeating her, being blatantly shown as the preview of the rewards for defeating her in the story.
  • In the end, even Paimon felt bad for Signora's death, not out of sympathy but more out of how she was slain with the Musou no Hitotachi. Her loyalists on the other hand, only wanted to avenge her solely because she was slain by the Raiden Shogun, not because of her contributions as a Harbinger, with the rest of the Harbingers only being prepared for the loss of Signora due to her being a valuable member of the Harbingers, with Arlecchino even claiming that the loss of her was a convinient excuse for everyone to stay in Snezhnaya.

Trivia[]

  • So far, only the English version of La Signora is a Hate Sink, because during her villainous breakdown, she declares everyone as filthy rats for trying to stop her in Inazuma before charging at the Shogun, as the other language versions present her loss in the end as a moment of desperation from being aware of her impending doom before charging at the Shogun, making her death too sympathetic for a Hate Sink in said versions, as well as the presence of the “invasive vermin” line with Signora not calling out Venti for his slumber during the Cataclysm.
