~ Letícia rejecting Carol's pacific offer. |
Letícia Azevedo, known in the story as Letícia only, is the secondary antagonist of rezendeevil's 2019 fantasy webseries Escola de Bruxos (Wizards Academy).
She is a powerful witch known to be one of the most cruelest in the world of the wizards, as well as one of the most dangerous. She is Valron's sidekick and his most faithful servant.
She was portrayed by the youtuber of the same name, Letícia Azevedo.
What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]
- Contrary to Valron, she lacks any "Evil is Cool" characteristics, with everything about her being played so that the audience feels deep hatred towards her.
- She likes being annoying and provoking towards her enemies and revels on the anger she evokes on people.
- She is willing to do anything to serve the dark side and her master Valron without any standards, even if it means endangering or outright killing innocent people.
- It's implied that at some point in the past, Letícia chose to abandon her friendship with Carol to embrace forbidden magic and began worshipping Valron from then. If this is actually the case, this would prove Letícia is almost no different than Valron, who also selfishly embraces the forbidden arts of magic for choosing power over relationships and does not mind cutting ties with people, even if they were really close friends formerly.
- She kidnaps Virgínia, a student at Wizards Academy, in order to lure Professor Carol to where she was so she could steal her wand, which was the one thing she needed to revive Valron.
- When Carol tries settling the situation peacefully by saying they didn't need to indulge in any conflict and asking what she wanted to be given to let Virgínia go, Letícia scoffs Carol saying that conflict was exactly what she wanted and that it was all about what Valron wanted and not what she wanted.
- After engaging in a duel with Carol, she sneaks up behind her and strikes her with the forbidden spell Draco, instantly killing the former and mockingly apologizing to her before disappearing with Carol's wand.
- Even though Letícia had gotten what she wanted from Carol, she didn't set Virgínia free, but instead had her killed either before or after she killed Carol, which was confirmed later on by the characters pointing out their friends that they had lost to the evil wizards.
- Even when she is scolded by Valron about killing Carol, she didn't show any remorse for it, and was only scared about what Valron was going to do to her. She expresses her pride over this again once Valron goes back on his word saying they would need to kill Carol sometime anyway.
- She expresses visible sadism when Valron orders her to gather his followers together again and to kill those who would refuse to join him the same way she killed Carol.
- Not only does she gather Valron's followers back together, she says that she made sure to make the world know about Valron's return, which possibly made countless people in the academy desperate.
- As Valron ordered, she kidnapped Rezende, João and Ana, the three remaining students at Carol's republic, and paralyzed them so Valron could taunt them, and when Rezende calls her out for killing Professor Carol, she just shrugs it off and says she was "going for a walk".
- She fights and attempts to kill João after being sent to the forbidden forest by Valron to protect his book and prevent whoever was there from destroying it. During said battle, she taunts João and laughs at him with a clear mockery undertone.
- After she is finally defeated by João, she begs him for mercy by saying they could both talk things out, which João obviously doesn't listen to and remarks she wasn't worth having any talk with after the things she did. This reveals how much of a cowards she is, since she was constantly shown to be full of herself whenever she was face to face with the heroes and overly confident that she could overpower them, but ended up pathetically lowering her tail in between her legs once João got the upper hand and even expected he would actually spare her despite trying to kill him seconds before and all her other previous crimes, especially her murder of Carol.
- Even though she gets scolded and even tortured by Valron a few times, this does not make her a scapegoat as she still keeps her annoying behavior towards her enemies and willingly keeps serving Valron as if nothing had happened despite the latter emphasizing how dangerous and intolerant he is. In reality, all those moments are played for satisfaction considering how loathsome she becomes after killing Carol.
- While her defeat is quite dreadful, getting petrified with no indication that it actually killed her or that she somehow came back to normal afterwards, which could mean she got stuck in a fate worse than death, it is played for catharsis and karma, with João even cheering excitedly that he was able to defeat her and honor all his friends, especially the deceased ones.
Trivia[]
- The fact Letícia is based on Bellatrix Lestrange makes her Hate Sink status quite fitting as Bellatrix is also a Hate Sink.
