Long Feng is the secondary antagonist of Avatar:The Last Airbender - Book 2: Earth. Along with Azula, the responsibility for Ba Sing Se's fall (and indirectly, Katara releasing her frustration on Yon Rha [though he deserved it] and Zuko) is primarily on his hands.
He is voiced by Clancy Brown, who also voiced the Smile Away Reformatory School Sergeant in Phineas and Ferb and Yakone in The Legend of Korra.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Although Fridge Horror compared to Azula, Long Feng lacks any of her humanity or comedy, is taken coldly seriously and has no redeeming factors/cares only for himself.
- Without him, it is doubtful Ba Sing Se would have fallen so hard (even if Azula still succeeded, she, Ozai, Mai and Ty Lee would have had a harder time of it). Thus, Katara would have had no remaining excuse for her self-pity.
- Tried to usurp the Earth King and conquer Ba Sing Se.
- By comparison, Jet is a scapegoat, as he opposed the Fire Nation & was traumatized by their sins, was affable, was only a kid and cared for his Freedom Fighters and the Gaang.
- Long Feng has clear Moral Agency, making his sins more unjustified.
- Brainwashes Jet to murder Team Avatar I, particularly Aang.
- He even steals Appa in the hopes of accomplishing this.
- He not only endangered tons of people, but he also endangered Zuko's and the girls in a attempt to regain their glory.
- To drive it all home, Zuko only wanted Ozai's and Mai's love and would have turned down Azula's convoluted offer in favor of Iroh and the Gaang otherwise (overall, Long Feng deserved his fate too).
- All this makes him at least indirectly responsible for the heroes' self-pity hitting Critical Breaking Point (considering Iroh made a living for himself!) [for a bonus, this proves only the heroes' and world's self-pity can be worse than the Fire Nation's and Ozai's treachery, even they were likely to fail if humanity stood together].
- Azula beating him at his own game while never even viewing him as a player is played for satisfaction for the horrible things he did.
