~ Mad Dog's infamous line to Bunny about her and Kitty. |
Mad Dog was the main antagonist of the episode The Mask from the show, Courage the Cowardly Dog.
He was the abusive boyfriend to Bunny, and was responsible for Kitty’s hate for dogs.
He was voiced by the late Peter Fernandez, who also voiced the Cruel Veterinarian on the same show.
What Makes Him Hate Sink?[]
- He was a gangster, meaning that he presumably performed many crimes.
- He was responsible for Bunny's and Kitty's separation, as he forced Kitty away out of jealousy, and as a result, this led to Kitty having an intense hatred for dogs.
- This also made him indirectly responsible for Kitty's horrible treatment of Courage.
- Its somehow implied that he is shown to be also homophobic as he disapproves of Bunny dating Kitty.
- While Mad Dog and Bunny are in a relationship together, he is proven to be extremely toxic, as he threatens her for thinking about Kitty, saying he will kill both Kitty and Bunny, and he and his men bury Bunny in a giant flower pot with her head sticking out when she tries to leave him.
- When Courage rescued Bunny, Mad Dog became outraged, and he drove his car with the intent to ram both Courage and Bunny.
- When Courage managed to stop Mad Dog, he got hit by a train, though not killed, he was injured with Mad Dog laughing, which is played for satisfaction and with Courage reuniting Bunny and Kitty together causing the latter to realizes that not all dogs are evil.
- He is meant to represent abusive partners and toxic relationships.
- He hardly as any comedic moments (aside from him laughing after being hit by the train), and the episode is much more grim and serious than other episodes.
- He is narcissistic and deluded enough to believe his tattered apartment qualifies as "first rate", making him arrogant.
- Overall, he is a vicious, arrogant, and cruel dog who serves as a representation of real life domestic abusers in a special double length episode made to address the topic, and he has no qualms with threatening or killing anyone who gets in his way.
