Magnus Is a minor antagonist of the Castlevania franchise. A vain, bloodthirsty and sadistic incubus, Magnus would try to manipulate and break Alucard into going against his loved ones while embracing his inner darkness, relishing in his despair. Torturing him into turning his best friend Lyudmill into a vampire, Magnus would use the latter as a human-hating serial killer to satisfy his bloodlust for centuries before moving into torment Alucard again and bring back Dracula's horror to the world.
He is voiced by Jun'ichi Suwabe.
What makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is a misanthropic demon that feels pleasure in the suffering of innocents.
- 322 years before the beginning of the drama, he mortally wounded Alucard's close friend Lyudmil, then gave him the choice of turning him into a vampire or letting him die. When Alucard refused, he mentally broke him into turning Lyudmill anyway while gloating about it.
- He took Lyudmill as a pet serial killer, making him kill humans for centuries, including Cyril's sister.
- After those events, Magnus decided to return and turn Alucard against his loved ones so he can corrupt and make him suffer.
- He attempted to manipulate Maria into turning against Alucard, but even then he could not hide his misanthropy and sociopathy by calling "human love" pathetic.
- Attempted to break Alucard mentally again using his powers to create illusions of his past with Lyudmil.
- Magnus contrasts greatly with other mainline Castlevania villains by having nothing that could be called magnificent or charming in spite of his evil, being nothing but a sadist that manipulates others into destroying themselves for fun.
