Mark Tomaso is the posthumous secondary antagonist of the controversial 1980 exploitation film Cannibal Holocaust. He was a close friend of Alan Yates and aided him in staging atrocities around the world to film realistic footage for Alan's documentaries. He was the most vile member of Alan's crew, his evil being on par with or perhaps even superseding Alan's.
He was portrayed by Luca Barbareschi.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He held down Felipe so Jack can cut his foot off and reacted with sadistic joy.
- Shooting a piglet for no reason.
- Burning down a Yacumo village, during which he states that it's "just like Cambodia", implying that he committed similar war crimes in Vietnam.
- Gangraping a Yanomamö girl while ignoring Faye protests, leading to her being impaled by either tribe or the filmmakers simply to frame them later.
- Agreeing with shooting Jack and then telling Alan that they both have to run to save their lives after Faye ends up getting captured by the Yanomamo, which leads to Faye getting raped, beaten, then eaten.
- Overall, he was such a scumbag that even his own father basically said good riddance to him after hearing the news of his death, describing him to be a "son of a bitch" and not wanting to talk about him ever again, despite not knowing what he did in the Amazon.
- Just like Carl Gabriel Yorke, his actor, Luca Barbareschi, hated him for his vile actions and personality. Furthermore, Luca has even refused to speak about his participation in the film.
