Marvin Trumble is the secondary antagonist of the 2024 survival horror game Crow Country. He worked with Edward Crow to scam people in Brazil with impossibly pure gold harvested from the Roots. However, once he got exposed, in fear of getting punished for his crimes, he broke into the titular theme park and tried to kill Edward Crow to take the money from the deal, as well as kill anyone else who could testify against him in any feasible way.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?

• Upon his introduction, he immediately calls Mara's name "a girl version of his name", showing his narcissism and how he can't think of someone in a way not involving himself.
• He tries to put a facade of affability, but fails so miserably that Mara can immediately tell he's hiding something.
• As he leaves, he calls Mara "Mary", despite learning her name only a few minutes earlier, showing his lack of attention for others.
• He jumps Julie Barron and stuffs her in a box instead of killing her, actively screwing up his own plans for no reason. She's easily freed, and Marvin is immediately suspected due to his inability to fake kindness.
• When Mara speaks with Tolman, he interrupts multiple times to insult him for no reason.
• He shoots Harrison James to death for no clear reason, as he was fine with Mara searching for Edward Crow, but not Harrison.
• When Tolman and Mara quickly realize he killed Harrison, he tries to shoot the two with his gun, despite the fact Mara is a teenage girl.
• His death of getting knocked off the bridge and falling to his demise due to a vent cover is played solely for satisfaction, as Julie gets to inadvertently get revenge on him, and Harrison finally gets avenged.
• Overall, he's a slimy narcissist who overestimates his abilities with no redeeming qualities at all.

Trivia

• It's possible that he knew what Crow was doing to the Guests, and actively didn't care as he was earning money either way. If this is confirmed to be true, it would make Marvin significantly worse.
