The unnamed step-father of Mitsuko Souma is a posthumous antagonist in the manga Battle Royale. He was the abusive step-father of Mitsuko Souma, who he sexually abused and turned her into the deviant maniac she is today.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Manipulated Mitsuko by giving her a doll as a present from her birthday in order to trick her emotions.
- During Mitsuko's childhood, her step-father would rape and molest her by making her believe that he was showing her love.
- When he didn't get satisfied by Mitsuko, he would beat her because he wasn't getting any erection from having sex with her.
- His actions would lead to Mitsuko's mother beating her, likely due to either her having sex with her husband or out of envy.
- His actions turned Mitsuko into the sexual deviant she is today, due to his sexual abuse and lies affecting her mind so badly she believed sex was the answer to all problems.
Trivia[]
- During one panel in chapter 62, the step-father can be seen crying while beating Mitsuko, although he was smiling as well. However, it's unknown for what reasons he was, although remorse is very unlikely given that he was lashing out at Mitsuko at that moment for not satisfying him. If he did feel remorse, then he would stop being a Hate Sink.
- He is one of the two characters in Battle Royale to be Hate Sinks, alongside Yonemi Kamon.
- His existence is omitted in the film, likely due to censorship, with an unnamed man replacing his role by attempting to molest Mitsuko as a child before she killed him.
