What makes him a Hate Sink?[]
- Even though he never get much of attention from others than Iruka after the Nine-Tails attack incident, it doesn't justify his actions because it was motivated out of sheer jealousy and spite due to wanting more of an attention and acknowledgement from others, showing how much selfish he is.
- Despite being friends with Iruka since childhood, it was proven to be merely a facade since he always hated him and wanted to make his life miserable behind his backs.
- In the anime, he never cared that one of his comrades suffered a leg injury and ruthlessly suffocated a man to death, believing that the injury would cause a hindrance to the mission's success. He even falsely reported that his comrade has died from the injury. This would lead him to gain an attention from Orochimaru which he later worked for.
- While his fiancée Tsubaki showed her love to him, he doesn't reciprocate his feelings back to her, showing that he never cared for her. She even thought of him as a sweet man while in reality he was very heartless and sadistic person.
- Moreover, while Tsubaki thought that Mizuki changed for worse due to encountering Orochimaru, Mizuki was actually twisted and immoral very long before encountering him.
- Manipulating Naruto's desire to be graduated by "advise" him to steal the First Hokage's scroll to him, causing the Konoha ninjas to chase after him. Originally, he had set Naruto up as a scapegoat and kill him from discovering his deception while secretly leaving the village with the scroll in his possession until Iruka found out about this.
- Breaking Naruto's spirit by revealing that he is in fact, a jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails. However, Naruto got his spirit back after hearing that Iruka has believed in him.
- Disguised as Iruka to convince Naruto to hand over the scroll for him, only to be revealed that Naruto was actually Iruka in disguise.
- Attempt to kill and finish off Iruka in cold blood, even though he was badly injured.
- Even though Naruto stands up to him and protect Iruka from getting killed, he's still going to kill him before he was quickly finished off by Naruto's Shadow Clone Jutsu.
- After escaping from prison, he was bent on making both Iruka and Naruto suffer as much as possible, even hurting his lover to do so.
- It is presumed that he was glad that Orochimaru invaded Konoha.
- During his fight with Iruka he relentlessly taunted him and repeatedly derided his attempts to convince him to redeem himself.
- Overall, he never had true loyalty to anyone but himself.
- Has no likable nor redeeming qualities whatsoever, unlike most of Naruto villains.
