Mother is an antagonist from Octopath Traveler II. She is a villain in Throne's path, and one of the two possessors of the keys leading to Claude.
What Makes Her A Hate Sink?[]
- Unlike Father, who is given a sympathetic past and genuinely loves Throne (though he was responsible for her biological mother's deah), Mother is not giving any redeeming qualities and is every bit as evil as she first appears.
- Along with Claude, she spends her time molding children into hardened assassins. In her case, she takes a more personal approach.
- She abuses the children under her care with her whip. She has abused Throne long enough that she no longer feels pain. Many children die because of this abuse.
- She is revealed to have taken power by force by killing Throne's biological mother Marietta and had manipulated Father into the deed.
- During her boss fight, her aide is shown to be terrified of receiving her wrath. It's also possible for party members to experience the terror status ailment as well, showing just how evil Mother is.
- While one of her daughters (Mira) genuinely loves her, this love is most likely not reciprocated.
- After her death, the orphanage she ran becomes a peaceful place where children can be loved and cared for, showing exactly how much suffering she brought to the children while she was in charge.
Trivia[]
- It is unknown as to what her real name is. (Father's name is eventually revealed to be Sebastian.)
- Despite not being the main villain of a character's route (the role of Throne's villain is taking up by Claude), Mother is one of the darkest villains in Octopath Traveler II.
