Mr. Thomas is a paranoid and sometimes antagonistic character from the fanfic "The Hailey Anne's little pet" being in that universe a hysterical father, in the past alcoholic and abusive with his wife and children, seeking redemption without any success, even the author of the fanfic He has such contempt for him that he made a "chapter" dedicated to "disgracing" him.
Why He is Considered a Hate Sink?[]
- He mistreated his family, earning the hatred of his relatives and the author of the fanfic.
- He manipulated them by telling them it was out of love like sheep/punching bags, worse to his children who were just children, leaving them traumas.
- He almost killed his wife who only wanted to free them from him.
- He caused Hailey to have an unpleasant vision of what love was for him, to the point that she not only loved him enviously, assaulted her mother in several atrocious ways because she only did the right thing, in Canada before going to Springdale, she had sex with her friend Justino when she felt it as unconscious blows, she became a sick abuser who kidnapped a girl, Isabel, subjecting her to various physical, psychological and sexual abuse, not being until a year and a half that she realized the atrocious mistake she made.
- In pathetic attempts to "redeem" himself he gained custody of Joshua for Mrs. Thomas's depression and Hailey's indifference in order to be a better "father" to him, putting up with the boy's certainly justified aggression for everything he did to her when he was just a little boy, he tries to reconcile with his ex-wife, predictably without success, he decided to go to Springdale in an attempt to take his son, who took the opportunity to return with his beloved mother and sister, to the apartment noticing who would be his grandson, Hailey obviously rejected his proposal to return to be a "family" for obvious reasons, in a struggle Joshua with a knife and the help of his sister stabbed the one he didn't even know why she called father, dedicating to him along with the others some last words before he died bleeding "Rot in the hell ... - The only excuse he had for mistreating his family apart from alcoholism, was because he thought his wife cheated on him, which although not explicitly, is confirmed to be false and the supposed lover was only a salesman, which makes his actions even more unjustifiable.
- He is indirectly (or directly) responsible for the main conflict and events of the fanfic's story, both in the main story and in its alternate endings, and although he shows remorse, that does not take away his guilt from anything.
- No matter how much he insists, he will never be forgiven for everything for obvious reasons,
- Because all the harm he caused, especially to his children, is not forgotten so easily, although once overcome, that would not lead to forgiveness.
- If he had lived to the end, surely in another attempt he would show how he tried to take care of Joshua or show them that he was involved in his children's achievements, which more than an apology and show of redemption, would be taken as another of his emotional manipulations.
- His death is karmic, but he could have had worse and deserved endings.
