Nicole Horne is the main antagonist of the 2001 video game Max Payne. She is the CEO of Aesir Corporation who profited from selling Valkyr, a drug originally intended to enhance performance but turned out extremely dangerous and committed numerous heinous crimes along the way.
What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]
- Before the main events of the game, she ordered the murders of Max Payne's wife Michelle and infant daughter Rose because Michelle simply read portions of documents surrounding the narcotic dubbed Valkyr.
- Left a spiteful message to Max's landline immediately after the fact.
- Ordered Max's corrupt colleague B.B. to murder Max's close friend and co-worker Alex Balder because they found proof of Punchinello's crimes, and just out of spite for Max.
- Created a manmade drug crisis with the drug Valkyr to make money and to experiment on human subservience, even falsely imprisoning a few addicts picked off from the streets.
- Is revealed to have used said drug addicts to murder Max's family.
- Murders Punchinello to cut loose ends before dealing with Max, whom she injects with an overdose of Valkyr rather than simply shooting him just to make his intended death painful.
- Orders every scientist and falsely imprisoned addict associated with Valkyr to be murdered.
- Taunts Max over his tragedies on the intercom when he storms Aesir's headquarters.
- Is utterly obnoxious to her subordinates, as she makes clear her disregard for their wellbeing and whines as they fail to apprehend Max.
