I loved too, unfortunately I'm broke, tomorrow, okay?
~ Norman to the students who want their money, trying to trick them.

Norman Stang is the titular main protagonist of the Moville Mysteries episode "The Novelty Kid". He is a boy who often tricks people into giving him their money and refuses to return it to them when he promises to.

He was voiced by Jake Green, who also voiced Parasite in My Adventures with Superman.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

  • To begin with, he often tricks kids into giving him money, and never returns it to them when he promises he would because of his greed and selfishness.
  • He's introduced swindling money from B.B. to get a cola from the school vending machine, and unreasonably increases the price, eventually "rounding it up to a fiver" which he outright steals from B.B.'s coat pocket. He doesn't even use the money he took from him to buy himself a soda, instead stealing the cola B.B. bought for himself.
  • He treats everyone around him with a faux-affable demeanor, which comes off as sleazy and condescending rather than friendly.
  • He often shown to be a very annoying nuisance, which is proven when the new kid's locker and he called dibs, which people move from him.
  • He uses the X-ray glasses from the Ace Novelty Company to buy soda bottles that had prizes printed under the bottle caps to win large amounts of money from the grocery stores he visits, and still doesn't pay anyone the money he won despite having enough to do so.
  • When Ace Novelty shows up to collect his debt from Norman, he still tries to weasel his way out of paying him, and even goes as far as to order his sentient army men toys to shoot Ace (Who end up turning on Norman, since he never pays them while Ace does).
  • His implicit fate of being turned into a zombie, while horrifying, is nonetheless deserved, because of his scams and false promises of returning money to the kids.
  • Unlike most villains in the series, including the more heinous ones like Professor Kindly (who is shown to have some comedic moments and isn't unlikable enough to qualify as a Hate Sink), there isn't anything remotely likable about Norman, as he is a greedy boy who often scams kids of their money and is so dimwitted that he doesn't even care enough to be manipulative in his schemes, which also earns him the hatred of his fellow students.
