This character is so dastardly, hated and popular that this character was voted most hated character of: January 2025. |
| “ | What he does with our products is none of our business. What is my business is keeping my family ahead of the rest. Your welcome, everyone! (Alador gets mad). There you go, making that face. This is why I don't tell you things. With the Emperor's favor, we'll live like royalty in the new world, crowns and everything! | „ |
| ~ Odalia revealing that she knows about Emperor Belos' genocidal intentions and aids him due to believing she will be spared and will gain more advanced profit from it. |
Odalia Blight is a minor supporting antagonist in the Disney Channel series The Owl House.
She is CEO of Abomination-producing company Blight Industries, the wife of Alador Blight, and the mother of Amity, Edric and Erica Blight. While originally presented as an abusive wife and mother, she is revealed to be even worse than that, as Odalia knows about Belos' plot to eradicate all witches and demons and is willing to go along with it, believing that she will be spared and gain profit from it and live out like royalty in the "new world."
She is voiced by Rachel MacFarlane.
What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]
- She manipulated her youngest daughter, Amity, into behaving in an elitist and aggressive manner, shaping her into the arrogant person she was at the beginning of the series. Additionally, she exerted control over Amity through an oracle necklace. As a result, she is indirectly responsible for Amity's mean behavior before she met Luz.
- In order to further control Amity and maintain her family's status, she threatened to banish Willow Park, her childhood best friend, from Hexside, if she won't sever her friendship with her.
- She used her status to get Luz, Willow, and Gus expelled from Hexside simply because she nearly lost her clients for "distracting" Amity, which led to Amity ruining the Abomaton demonstration, even though they were not responsible for the incident. As a result, Willow and Gus also ended up getting grounded by their parents.
- Once Luz told her that she can be friends with Amity anyway, Odalia tricked her into being cannon fodder for Blight Industries' new product the Abomatron 2.0, despite it already proving itself to be strong as Alador pointed out.
- Although she agreed to return Luz, Willow and Gus back to Hexside, it wasn't out of honor but because Amity threatened to destroy Abomaton 2.0 in front of her investors, and because Alador convinced her that this will possibly make Amity the coven head.
- She sold many Abomatons to the Emperor's Coven despite the fact that she is secretly aware Emperor Belos will use them as part of his plan to eliminate all witches and demons with Draining Spell, due to believing she will become gain royalty and profit as a reward.
- In the Season 2 finale, it is revealed that she that she actually neglected her family's personal needs from the get-go as she neglects her husband Alador to work endlessly, thus he hadn't time to spend with his children.
- While Odalia claims that she helps Belos for her family's sake, it's nothing but lies as Odalia is a huge narcissist using her husband and children for secure her own image. It is also proven when she tried to rid of Luz, after learning that Amity dates her.
- While it is true she's not homophobic, disapproving Luz and Amity's relationship because Luz is a wanted criminal rather than the fact she's a girl, it's not redeeming as homophobia is virtually unknown to the Boiling Isles, and thus she has zero reason to hate the fact Amity is dating another girl.
- Her own willingness to help Belos is not genuine and she helps him only out of her own, selfish goals, believing that she will become royalty and gain profit after the Day of Unity.
- After the Day of Unity, she began seeking the Collector's favor, hoping to convince him to rebuild the Boiling Isles according to her wishes. However, he never listens to her and forces her to act subservient, which is a fitting consequence for her actions. This situation highlights that, after mistreating her children for so long, she is now at a loss when faced with a child who defies her and possesses the power to make her comply with his demands.
- Her despicable nature is so evident that even Belos, a genocidal maniac, wants nothing to do with her. When he needed a new body, as his current one was deteriorating, he chose to possess the puppetized Raine Whispers instead of Odalia, despite her being nearby.
- Although she did possess redeeming qualities during her adolescence since she got along well with Alador and Darius and was once a partner for, as she smiled at the sight of Eda, she eventually lost all of her redeeming qualities in her adulthood.
- After Belos was defeated and Amity reunites with Alador, she can be seen sulking in the corner, not even a little bit happy to see that her family is okay, which further implies that she begrudged them.
