The Orphanage Staff are a posthumous antagonistic organization in the Diabolik Lovers franchise. While in theory they should give a new home for the many orphans created by the war in the unamed country where the flashbacks take place, their mistreatment of the children inside made Ruki speculate that it's a front to "clean" the streets of children.
What makes them Hate Sinks?[]
- The conditions in the orphanage they run are so brutal that Ruki speculates it's a front to kill off the street children, due to how many he witnessed dying of starvation and abuse, and how they do not intervene when the orphans fight each other.
- The employers openly relish on the cruelty they inflict on the orphans, taunting them about them suffering and never being able to escape.
- Kou's route shows that they participate in human trafficking, buying him from a military officer. While they treat him better compared to the others, it's only because his looks were attractive to a group of sadistic aristocrats that would pay the orphanage to torture (and possibly also sexually abuse) him.
- When Ruki, Kou, Azusa and Yuma (at the time called by the nickname "Bear") attempt to escape, they fire at the four, and the manager takes the time to torture Ruki by branding him as "livestock" to show how he will never earn freedom.
- The conditions they experienced in the orphanage would shape the Mukami brothers's sadistic and disturbed personalities in the present after Karlheinz gave them "another chance" as vampires.
- Suffered no consequences for their actions, making then Karma Houdinis.
