Paul Dellenbach is the main antagonist in the 2006 animated sci-fi thriller film Renaissance. He is the corrupt and wealthy CEO of the megacorporation Avalon as well as Barthélémy Karas's arch nemesis and rival.
He was voiced by Jonathan Pryce, who played Mr. Dark in Something Wicked This Way Comes, High Sparrow in Game of Thrones, Seamus O'Rourke in Ronin, General Vavarin Delatombe in The Brothers Grimm and Elliot Carver in Tomorrow Never Dies in the English dub and Gabriel Le Doze in the French dub. He is additionally portrayed by Max Hayter in motion capture.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is a greedy, manipulative businessman and CEO of Avalon who goal to gain power over life, death and immortality using his company Avalon.
- During his first meeting with Barthélémy Karas, Karas asked if he sleep with Ilona, his response was "I sleep with my wife, I sleep with my secretary, I even sleep with my sister-in-law but I would never sleep with one of my researchers".
- He sent off his henchmen to kill off Ilona's dog and then later on Dimitri, Jonas and Hishiro to prevent Karas from discovering his information while investigating.
- He made fun of the people that Karas when arguing with him shortly he killed Jonas Muller.
- After Karas discovered that Karas's henchmen was behind the killing for him, it causes Karas to get fired from job.
- He tortured one of Karas's teammates for information.
- He tricked Karas via Ilona Tasuiev, into rescuing her after she revealed she wanted immortality by giving her discovery to Avalon for Paul Dellenbach.
- He lacks any redeeming qualities and is barely taken seriously.
