~ Pete Whipple revealing his true feelings toward his son during their final tournament. |
Peter Whipple, also known as Pistol Pete, is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Dr. Robotnik) of the Knuckles the Echidna television series.
He is a famed bowler and the father of Wade Whipple. Choosing his career over his family, he abandoned Wade as a child. Years later, he teamed up with Agent Willoughby and Agent Mason in a plan to bring Knuckles the Echidna to The Buyer.
He was portrayed by Cary Elwes.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- While he does show affability to Wade, it's only a thin facade and it's constantly proven that he does not care for his son.
- He abandoned Wade when he was a child, leaving Wade with abandonment issues.
- He teamed up with Willoughby and Mason and ordered Wade to give up Knuckles to them.
- He also had the pair kidnap Wanda and Wendy, his daughter and ex-wife respectively, to give Wade incentive. Mason even states that they didn't even have to threaten him that much to get him to comply.
- It's implied that he did this so that Wade would be preoccupied and thus couldn't attend the Tournament of Champions, making him winner by default. This can be proven when he smugly tries to take the trophy when Wade doesn't show up right away.
- He constantly belittles and insults Wade during their match, calling him a loser.
- He tries to escape with the trophy while Wade was fighting the Buyer with Knuckles, even though he lost the tournament.
- He stands out as one of the most despicable villains in Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog film series, due to his cruel negligence towards his family, and his complete lack of the "Evil is Cool" factors that many of the other villains had, even though he isn't without redeeming qualities.

Trivia[]
- Pete Whipple shares a similarity with Audrey Bourgeois from the animated TV series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, as both abandoned their respective children (Chloe Bourgeois in Audrey's case, Wade Whipple in Pete's case), causing their insecurities to be developed. While Chloe was nothing more than a bully and villain to Marionette, Wade did not let it consume him, as he accepted who he was and became a trusted friend and ally to the heroes.
