~ Creedy calling out V after murdering Adam Sutler |
Peter Creedy is the secondary antagonist of the 2006 film V For Vendetta. He is the chief enforcer and torturer of the fascist Norsefire Party, a dictatorship in a dystopian future England.
He was portrayed by the late Tim Pigott-Smith.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He is a self-professed fascist, as well as a racist, misogynist, Islamaphobe, and homophobe.
- He believes that anyone who is not white, Christian, and heterosexual should be exterminated.
- While he does believe in fascism, he sees it ultimately as a means to an end: absolute power. He is, in V's words, "a man seemingly without a conscience, for whom the ends always justify the means".
- He helps Norsefire seize absolute power by launching a bioterrorist attack on London that kills thousands of people, and then he blames it on a group of innocent Muslims.
- He runs Norsefire's secret police and personally oversees state kidnappings, torture, and genocide.
- He personally kidnaps and murders Gordon Dietrich.
- He justifies Dietrich's murder by planting a copy of the Quran, the ownership of which is illegal under the Norsefire regime, in his apartment.
- He begins plotting against Sutler when his hated boss blames him for V stirring up public discontent with the regime.
- He has Sutler kidnapped and executes him so he can take over the Party and the country.
- He tries to kill V.
