ā€œ What are you doing huh? Do you know what you have done? You have interrupting employee's work. You know what will happen next if a toy do that. Don't put your nose in other people's business!!! ā€ž
~ An employee reprimanding Miss Delight, shortly before DogDay stops him.
ā€œ We checked the camera and saw your bad behavior in front of kid last night! You will be punished! You, CatNap are officially banned at Home Sweet Home, now take your things and leave here, nice treats are waiting you there at the playhouse! ā€ž
~ An employee callously telling CatNap he's banned from Home Sweet Home, before proceeding to abuse him in front of the orphans.

The Playcare Employees are one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside the Prototype) of the ongoing fanmade Poppy Playtime tie-in Webtoon, The Hour of Joy Fan-Comic, serving as the main antagonists of Part 1, and the secondary antagonists of Part 2.

They are a group of disgruntled and abusive employees that work within the Playcare section of the Playtime CO. factory who have a habit of beating the Toys that work there. Because of their abuse, their actions would lead to CatNap developing a hatred towards the other Smiling Critters, along with initiating the Hour of Joy.

Overall, they're the archenemy of CatNap, and the archenemies of the Toys themselves.

What Makes them Hate Sinks?[]

Background[]

  • They are smug snakes, always trying to assert their control over the Toys.
  • None of them have any excuse for committing their actions, other than a couple of the employees being mad that they wouldn't be paid (Which wasn't the toys' fault.).
  • Despite being obviously detestable, hardly anyone else had known about their true nature, evident to the fact that the tourists are unaware about the treatment that the Toys had faced when they attacked during the Hour of Joy.

In General[]

  • Larry and one other employee are seen threatening and attacking Miss Delight because the latter didn't want them taking an orphan girl named Sarah away.
  • The latter two employees mutter about Miss Delight and DogDay behind their back when the latter threatened to kill them if they continued mistreating the Toys. In a twist of fate, the two employees would receive their comeuppance when CatNap (an orphan named Theodore Grambell who became a toy via the Bigger Bodies Initiative) ambushes and brutally kills them.
  • They systemically beaten all the Smiling Critters just because DogDay was not monitoring CatNap. This is made worse due to the fact that the other Smiling Critters didn't do anything for what DogDay had done.
  • When John was monitoring the Game Station and notices that Mommy Long Legs stole his bat, the former pathetically taunts her when Mommy challenges her to a game. His ego eventually breaks when Mommy tricks him.
    • Additionally, John cowardly begs for mercy when Mommy threatens to kill them, only for Mommy to go back on her word and drop him to his death anyways, which is played for satisfaction.
  • Several employees threatened Boxy Boo while trying to force feed him, just because they wouldn't be paid if the latter refuses.
  • They were then deservingly killed by Boxy out of spite, only for another employee to shoot him and label him as a monster (When they and perhaps he were the real monsters).
  • After Bobby BearHug tipped off the Consuelors about CatNap killing a woman named Ms. Brooks, they wrecked CatNap's breakfast and taunted him repeatedly to let him know that they are the ones in control of him, before going on to ban him from the Home Sweet Home.
    • What makes this worse is that they're shown to openly beat him in front of the other orphans and Smiling Critters, while showing no remorse for their actions along with being proud of hurting CatNap.
  • They lie to the orphans about CatNap having a contagious fever so they wouldn't get suspicious about the abuse before leaving.
  • While some of the employees as shown above received their comeuppance on-screen, others are Karma Houdinis since there's not enough implication to prove that they received any punishment for their actions other than the Hour of Joy, though it's unknown whether those same employees were killed in the massacre.

Trivia[]

  • Two of the named employees, Jessica and Stuart, do not qualify. This is due to Jessica being affable to Boxy Boo, and was horrified when the other employees were mistreating him. Stuart is also affable to DogDay, and doesn't abuse the Smiling Critters like most of the other employees.
  • They are the only Hour of Joy Fan-Comic characters to be Hate Sinks.
