Player 278 is a supporting antagonist of the first season of the South Korean Netflix drama series Squid Game.
He was portrayed by Kwak Ja-hyoung.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He might be a pervert due to some sexual gestures he made.
- Upon realizing that the masked men do not punish the players for killing others, he joined Jang Deok-su in the massacre of 27 players during the night after the 2nd game.
- Tried to encourage Deok-su to start another riot at night.
- During the marbles round, he did not show any hesitation whatsoever in playing against Deok-su, even mocking the latter with insults and revealing to him that he was never truly loyal to him in the first place. He also sadistically taunts him over his fear of losing and displayed no concern when he lost the first round despite knowing very well that he could have died, pretty much betraying him.
- While less significant than Deok-su, he is arguably equally as hateable as him, as he feigned loyalty to him, helping him kill many contestants only to betray him, making his actions be all for nothing in the end.
