Porter C. Powell is a major antagonist in the 2007 animated series, Transformers: Animated. He is a smug and greedy Chairman of the Board of Sumdac Systems & CEO of Powell Motorworks who will pull every dirty trick to make a quick buck, and as a result has come at odds with the Autobots.
He is voiced by Bumper Robinson.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Is an extremely greedy businessman and unbearable Smug Snake who will do every dirty tactic he can find to make the most profit, such as financing Biotech Unbound despite it being the rival of Sumdac Industries, who he is the Chairman of its Board.
- Upon Professor Isaac Sumdac's disappearance, he steals ownership of the company from his daughter's hands, and while that may seem justified considering she was making the company bleed money, he still did so by being an unnecessarily cruel jerk rubbing to her face how bureaucratically, she doesn't even exist as he evicts her from her own home who he instead gives to Henry Masterson/HeadMaster.
- Bails Henry Masterson/HeadMaster, a deranged lunatic that threatened to blow up he entre state of Michigan, to use his tech to profit from military contracts, knowingly going against the principle Sumdac had on refusing to deal with military and weapons development, and orders him to use his machine to decapitate and body jack other guys like Sentinel Prime and other Autobots while trying to sabotage the Autobots attempts to stop him before bailing him out of justice once more.
- Inappropriately uses Bulkhead's name and likeness without his permission to create a new line of family SUVs based on Bulkhead's alt-mode, trying to pedal them in the market while knowing they were terrible road hazards prone to tipping over & cathing fire and is unsafe at any speed.
- Holds out servicing the city's trashbots so he can force the Mayor to renegotiate a more lucrative contract.
- Tries framing Bumblebee and Sari for breaking out Meltdown just to secure his control over Sumdac Industries.
- When Professor Sumdac returns, he pathetically attempts to weasel his way out of trouble by sweet-talking him on how "it was great to see him again".
- Takes Sumdac's design for the Soundwave toy he made for Sari's birthday despite his warnings, and pedals it out across the market in cheap prices for a final dirty trick to squeeze out money. This backfired horribly with the toys going rogue and thankfully the Autobots stop them as a result of this incident, he must give every customers their money back starting with the Sumdac family, and this is played with satisfaction.
- Unlike even Sentinel Prime, where he can rarely be portrayed in a sympathetic light, Powell is completely unsympathetic at all.
