Princess Luna is a mentioned character in "Cheerilee's Garden" who later appears as an antagonist at the near end of the sequel of Scarlet Harvest, which was written be Unahim.
She is a corrupt monarch in Equestria who was responsible of mishandling court cases and abused power within the court as a way to have Twilight Sparkle wrongfully sentenced to death for crimes that Cheerilee did, in which it led to Twilight Sparkle's suicide within "Scarlet Harvest". She is also the sister of Princess Celestia.
What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]
- Even though Twilight wasn't responsible for having killed eight young ponies or killed her friends, Luna sent Twilight Sparkle to trial, even though the latter was innocent and had killed Cheerilee righteously, even going as far as to treat her horribly. She would automatically assume that Twilight was guilty, even without any actual proof.
- Since Princess Luna knew Twilight personally and was not impartial, this could've disqualified her automatically from overseeing the court case. But since Luna did so anyway, this would make her responsible of breaking court of law as it is forbidden to have judges from personally knowing the defendant and the judge must be impartial. This also mean that Princess Luna had abused her use of power as she rigged up the latter's court case just to have Twilight unjustly executed for Cheerilee's Atrocities.
- In court, Luna didn't allow Twilight to stand a chance since she didn't even bother giving Twilight Sparkle anypony as a defender for her side, not even letting Celestia help her as she left her to rest in her chambers.
- Luna would claim that nopony can enter the Everfree Fortresses just to direct the blame back to Twilight Sparkle, even though Cheerilee was just there before.
- Even though Twilight said that Princess Celestia forgot to destroy one of the keys to the fortresses, Princess Luna gets offended and accuses Twilight of pushing it upon Celestia and sees Celestia as stubborn for still trying to risk it all for Twilight, even though Princess Luna refused to listen to Twilight's side of the story, making Luna a hypocrite.
- Even when she tells Sherlock Whooves that the Elements of Harmony healed her stab wounds given from Cheerilee, Luna says that Celestia couldn't be able to use them without the main six being present even though Celestia isn't even part of the Elements of Harmony, making it an unfair comparison.
- Luna would then unjustly convict Twilight Sparkle as guilty and planned to have her executed for the crimes that Cheerilee committed. and even when Twilight pleads that she was innocent, she calls the element of magic a monster and treats the latter as if she was out of her mind before letting the guards take her away to plan on having her executed via hanging, only for Celestia to take Twilight with her and attempted to escape with her.
- Princess Luna shows no concern for Twilight's feelings, as she instantly turns her back on her at the trial and refuses to give Twilight a single chance to properly explain her side.
- Even when Celestia says that she doesn't want to lose Twilight just like she had with Luna, and when Celestia tries to blast magic to get her out of the way for escape, Luna boasts that she was always better at dispelling magic than her, especially in the terrible mental state that Celestia was in about losing Twilight, showing that Luna shows a lack of disregard for her sister's feelings.
- Her and Sherlock Whooves' actions would lead to causing Twilight to fall even more into despair, as the latter would later decide to kill herself by throwing herself to her death. Even when Celestia tried to save Twilight, Luna used her dispelling spell to disable Celestia's magic, leading to her sister not being able to save Twilight in time and leading to the Twilight succeeding on her suicide goal.
- Even after Twilight's suicide, Princess Luna does not show remorse for what she caused, saying that it was the only possible outcome to do and coldly tells Celestia, who cares for Twilight and has been brought to tears over the latter's death, to "let it go". This would cause Celestia to believe that any system that sends her student to death is fundamentally flawed, causing her to plan a new totalitarian Solar Empire.
- Even though it has been mentioned that Luna had been banished and stuck on the moon for a thousand years in "Cheerilee's Garden", this does not excuse any of her actions as she had Twilight unrightfully executed for a crime she didn't commit. Even though Twilight and the Main Six were not explicitly mentioned, they have saved her from being trapped on the moon, therefore meaning that Princess Luna was ungrateful for Twilight saving her and backstabs Princess Celestia's protege when the latter was brought to court.
- She was never punished for her actions, making her a Karma Houdini.
- Unlike her original counterpart, she has no redeeming qualities and is taken seriously throughout her appearance of Scarlet Harvest.
Trivia[]
- She, aside from the titular main antagonist and Sherlock Hooves, are the only characters in the "Cheerilee's Garden" Dark FanFiction to be considered as Hate Sinks.
- Ironically, her original counterpart is in the Love Exalted Wiki.
