Professor Hojo is one of the overarching antagonists of the compilation of Final Fantasy VII, serving as the secondary antagonist of Final Fantasy VII, A supporting antagonist in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, The main antagonist of Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, He is the head of the Shinra's Science Division and is responsible for the creation of Sephiroth, the main antagonist of Final Fantasy VII. He was voiced by James Sie in the 2020 remake.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- Killed Professor Gast and took his kid and his wife to be experimented on.
- Indirectly caused the death of Ifalna the last original cetra.
- Trapped Vincent in a Coffin for decades after shooting him as one of his experiments.
- While Lucrecia was pregnant he injected her with Jenova cells leading to her fate worse than death.
- Was indirectly responsible for Sephiroth's face-heel turn as he lied to him about his origins making him think that he was Jenova's child.
- Never showed care for either Sephiroth or Lucrecia.
- Attempted to breed Aerith with SOLDIER candidates, in the original wanted to breed her with Red XIII, who is an animal.
- Attempted to use the Mako cannon to power up Sephiroth, endangering all of Midgar and it's citizens.
- Unlike his son Sephiroth, he shows no redeeming qualities or tragic past.
