Quitela (in Japanese: キ テ ラ, Kitera) is a major antagonist in the Universe Survival Saga of Dragon Ball Super. He is the person who holds the position of God of Destruction in Universe 4, and is the arch-nemesis of Beerus. He is arguably the most sadistic and heartless out of all the Gods of Destruction.

He was voiced by Yūsuke Numata in Japanese and Meli Grant in English.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?

In General/Background

• First of all, he is a very lazy, indolent, and self-centered god who hardly trains or performs his important duties as a God of Destruction, and just spends his time playing video games, eating junk food instead of taking care of Universe 4.
• Despite being an immortal God of destruction, he is the least mature out of all of them, even more so than Beerus. examples:
  1. He throws childlike tamper tantrums when things don't go his way
  2. He doesn't act wise at all.
  3. He enjoys annoying his fellow gods.
• While most Gods of destruction have sociopathic tendencies as part of their job, he seems to be the most overt about it and is the most amoral of them all.

Dragon Ball Super

• Unlike most of the deities who were stunned and horrified by the Zen-Ohs' erasure of Universe 9, he sadistically smirks, feeling joy in its destruction, instead of feeling concern for it.
  • His amused reaction to Universe 10's destruction is even worse, as he grins wider and laughs.
• He is absolutely terrible to his fighters, examples of these are:
  1. Angrily berates them whenever they lose.
  2. Angrily kicks Nink in the head after the latter got himself eliminated after trying to take Goku with him.
  3. Threatens Damon if he gets eliminated.
  4. Furiously tries to stomp and perhaps even to kill Damon after he was defeated by Goku and Android 17.
• He sends a telepathic message to Sidra and tricks him into sending assassins to eliminate Frieza, which would thus make him get off scotch free if caught, and cause Sidra to get eliminated if caught.
• He is the only God of Destruction who does not accept his doomed erasure and attempts to take down the whole team with him first before dying but fails to do so. Every other God of Destruction so far accepts their fate and faces it with dignity.
• Along with Frost, he serves the purpose of giving the audience someone to root against. Out of the twelve Gods of Destruction, he is the one presented at the most punch-able.

• He is so far the only God of destruction to be approved as a Hate Sink.
