Raynare is a major antagonist of the ecchi light novel series High School DxD and it's anime adaptation, serving as the main antagonist of Volume 1, and a posthumous antagonist in the rest of the series. She is a Fallen Angel and the ex-girlfriend turned arch-nemesis of Issei Hyoudou after temporarily killing him.

What Makes Her a Hate Sink?[]

She manipulated Issei to fall in love with her only to kill him when they were alone.
She killed Asia in front of Issei after getting her Sacred Gear, and during her fight with Issei, she taunts him over Asia's death and tries to run away from him after he nearly defeated her.
In her last moments, she begs Issei to spare her by turning into Yuuma, even after killing Asia and taunting him over her death.
Her actions would have a great impact on Issei, as she would be the reason why he never expressed feeling for other girls for a long time due to them reminding him of her.
Even if some fans might find her appearance attractive, it nonetheless fails to take away from negative reception of her unambiguously heinous actions and character.
Unlike most of the antagonists in the series, she has no redeeming qualities or comedic moments, meant to simply stand out as a character fans are meant to hate due to her heartless and sinister personality as well as odious actions.

Raynare, along with Diodora Astaroth, Freed Sellzen and Valper Galilei are the only High School DxD Hate Sinks.
