The Rink-O-Mania DJ is a minor antagonist in Season 4 of Stranger Things. He was a DJ at Rink-O-Mania in Lenora Hills, California.

What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]

  • He is extremely arrogant, even for a DJ.
  • He is presumably a fully grown adult and takes pleasure in using his job to play the song "Wipeout" while allowing Angela and her group of bullies to humiliate Jane by surrounding her and finally taunting her when Jake throws a drink at Jane, causing her to fall over. He does all this while hiding behind his sound system like a coward.
  • He rudely ignores Mike when he asks him to stop playing the music
  • Unlike Angela, Chad, or Jake, he was not shown to be shocked at the former getting hit by Eleven. In fact, he presumably smiled at this, showcasing just how much more worse he is than any of the other bullies due to his rather severely twisted sense of sadism.
  • It’s implied that he’s was kicked out of the school offscreen after everyone else, including the other bullies, realized that his twisted sadism had actually caused him to develop a severe lack of shock, which served as karma for his actions.
  • While the Rink-O-Mania DJ is very one-dimensional compared to the other immoral adults of the series to the point of never being identified in canon, he still establishes himself as a cowardly and sadistic manchild. Even Jack Sullivan and any of the villainous Soviets don't display any socially/emotionally stunted behavior at all, and he doesn't have the resources to match their vile personalities anyway.
