Ripslinger is the main antagonist in the 2013 Disney animated film Planes, the first installment of the spinoff series of the Cars franchise created by Pixar and the main villainous protagonist of the Introducing Ripslinger short. He is Dusty Crophopper's arch-rival.
He was voiced by Roger Craig Smith, who also voiced Jacob Hopkins in The Owl House.
What makes him Hated?[]
- He is always full of himself and boastful.
- Some official material mentions that he regularly uses Ned and Zed's help to eliminate competition, which implies that he may've earned his victories and status of a champion by cheating.
- He believes Dusty doesn't belong in the Wings Around the Globe Rally solely due to him not being a racing plane. He also grows jealous of the crop-duster when he ultimately becomes successful, despite being a famous and respected champion himself.
- After Dusty saved Bulldog from an engine overheat, he called Dusty a nice guy, but only to remind him that nice guys "finish last".
- He bribed Ishani to lure Dusty into a trap, which almost caused him to hit a train and die.
- He and his goons ambushed Dusty in the Pacific Ocean, tearing off his antenna in hopes that he would get lost at sea, which would most certainly cause him to drown had a rescue helicopter not found him. He doesn't feel an ounce of remorse for this, even after getting called out by other racers, and only feigns concern for Dusty on camera.
- Made a joke about Dusty's disappearance, suggesting he would make a better boat than a plane.
- During the final leg of the rally, Ripslinger ripped off Skipper's tail.
- His humiliating defeat by Dusty was played for pure satisfaction, and it's highly likely that he was permanently banned from racing altogether.
- Overall he has no redeeming qualities.
