Ronno is a major antagonist in Bambi, He first appeared in the 1942 film and appeared as a main antagonist in the sequel.
He is a deer who yearns to have Faline all to himself, without wanting to understand that he wants to be with Bambi, wanting to fight him, and attempting to exact ultimate revenge in the first film.
His voice was provided by composers Frank Churchill and Edward H. Plumn, who played the men in the film. Anthony Ghannam voiced him as a fawn.
What makes it hateful?[]
Movies[]
- He is a bully with bambi and other forest animals because of a simple superiority complex, mainly towards Bambi because he is envious of the fact that he is the son of the prince of the forest and because he is in love with Faline.
- In his first appearance, he scares the groundhog just because, in addition to inventing absurd lies just to impress others, such as that he himself defeated a hunter, something that as Faline knows, for a fawn that is impossible, when Bambi was impressed with his story, which Faline demonstrated with sarcasm for what was already said, he was offended for believing that Bambi took his story as a lie (Which is true), and challenges him to a fight, intimidating him in the process.
- When his mother called him, she complained very disrespectfully, saying that he was just making friends, which he wasn't, he was bullying. He's lucky to have a passive and patient mother.
- On another occasion, when he was bragging to Faline, who didn't interest him much, and they met Bambi, he didn't miss the opportunity to make fun of him for having frozen in the meadow, and when Faline complained to him, he said, very conceited, that if there weren't cowards, they would never know who was brave (although he isn't as brave as he claims).
- When Ronno sarcastically responds to Bambi's "roar", Ronno pretends that Faline is on his side and tells him to go now. When Faline firmly tells him that she will stay with Bambi, Ronno forces her to go with him using his two small antlers, as he did in the first film.
- When Bambi was with Mena (Another infamous moment along with Faline's), she appeared just to mock him by saying that his father was so ashamed of him that he gave him away to Mena (When that is not the case) just to provoke him, which leads to a fight.
- He was also, although not intentionally or directly, responsible for Mena falling into one of the hunters' traps when he hit Bambi, causing him to accidentally push the doe into the trap.
- He finally gets what he deserves (at least in the sequel/prequel) when while announcing that he will get revenge on Bambi in the future, he accidentally steps on a turtle that bites him on the nose, causing him to run away in fear.
- When he grows up and faces Bambi again, he tries to force Faline to go with him again, provoking Bambi's fury and starting another fight, in which Ronno is finally defeated and thrown into a small river.
Manga[]
- Just like the movie version, this one bullies Bambi for being the son of the Prince of the Forest and Faline's love interest, In addition to whispering to an anonymous deer that Bambi had no mother. On one occasion, Ronno tricked Bambi into going to a human, or in other words, he practically wanted him to die at the hands of a hunter. Luckily, the human was just a child and Bambi came out safe and sound.
- Ronno continued bullying everyone in the forest to which Thumper calls him "Ronno the Rampager" and when Ronno discovers Bambi and Faline's relationship, he becomes enraged saying that Faline and the forest belong to him.
- Ronno's defeat in the manga is somewhat ambiguous, as he is seen being thrown off the cliff by Bambi, believed to have been killed by hunters, died from his injuries, or even died in the forest fire.
Book (1923)[]
- He and a deer named Karus bullied Bambi since his antlers began to grow.
Trivia[]
- In the movies, Ronno and Bambi have been enemies since they were little deer, but in the book "Bambo: A Life in the Woods" he and a deer named Karus (who does not appear in the movies) got along well with Bambi even before the death of his mother, until they reached adulthood they faced each other for the love of Faline. He is also shot which makes him permanently limp, but it is not seen in either the movie or the manga.
- When he told his made-up story, Bambi and Faline reacted differently to the word "incredible." Faline reacted in a way that she knew was a lie because of what she had already said, but Ronno apparently didn't care because he was in love with her. However, with Bambi, although he believed him in the way he said it, he accused him of thinking his story was a lie. Ronno probably already knew that Bambi was also in love with Faline and wanted to fight him from the beginning.
- He does not appear or mention him in the twisted Bambi movie.
- Neither Ronno nor the hunter appear in the Bambi's Children comic, probably because they died.
- In the film, Ronno appears with three points on his antlers, light brown eyes, and a cut on his right ear (God knows how he got it). However, in The Mouse House, he has two points on his antlers, dark brown eyes, and the cut on his right ear is missing. In Bambi 2, he has green eyes, likely due to animation and continuity errors.
