Lord Rossart is a minor posthumous in the epic fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire and its 2011-2019 television series adaptation Game of Thrones.
He was the Grand Master of the Alchemists' Guild and a pyromancer during the reign of Mad King Aerys II Targaryen. As King Aerys' right-hand man, he actively supported and aided the Mad King in his atrocities and cruel actions, and led the executions at the royal court. Near the end of King Aerys' reign, Rossart served as Hand of the King. History will remember him as the man who burned Lord Rickard Stark alive or just another mad fancy of the Mad King.
In the TV series, he is played by an unidentified actor.
What Makes Him Hated?[]
- He helps king Aerys II Targaryen execute dozens of people to sadistic execution while laughing.
- He burned Lord Rickard Stark alive inside his armor. Rickard's son Brandon Stark was tied up and forced to watch his father's agonizing death, with a noose around his neck and a sword just beyond his grasp. In his desperation to save his father, Brandon strangled himself while trying to reach the sword.
- Participating in King Aerys' plan to destroy King's Landing, a city inhabited by half a million innocent people, shows a disregard for human life and a willingness to cause widespread death and destruction.
- His actions did fail but were used by others like Cersei Lannister to blow up her opponents with the barrels he made.
- He has no excuse for his actions or tragedy and is taken completely seriously.
