Santos Jimenez is one of the three overarching antagonists of Dexter. He was a cartel member who, under the orders of Hector Estrada, killed anyone who attempted to snitch him to the law. He was a notably large and brutal figure who served as the muscle to Estrada's leadership.
He is portrayed by Tony Amendola.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- For starters, he was already shown to be a sadistic person, cutting off the finger of someone who simply questioned Estrada.
- He is the very reason that Dexter Morgan and Brian Moser became serial killers in the first place. He was the one who horrifically dismembered three people in front of the Moser brothers using a chainsaw before infamously killing Laura Moser, their mother, right in front of them.
- To make this worse, he condemned Dexter and Brian, who were both innocent kids, to a fate worse than death where they were forced to remain in a pool of blood from Laura Moser and the three other people he brutally murdered for two days with no food, no water, and no light and was forced to see their mother's scattered remains.
- This event irreparably damaged Dexter and Brian Moser's psyches for the rest of their lives, turning the innocent, wholesome Dexter into a future serial killer with sadistic thoughts and urges and turning an already damaged Brian Moser into an uncontrollable serial killer who went by the NHI killer and the Ice Truck Killer. This makes him indirectly responsible for everyone that the both of them murdered throughout their lives as serial killers.
- As the cherry on top, he got away with it for decades and managed to start a Bar in Naples, Florida, showing that he has zero remorse for any of his crimes.
- He was rude to Dexter at the bar and tried to deny his involvement when confronted by Dexter.
- He attempted to kill Dexter while he was bowling.
- When he was put on Dexter's table, he cowardly offered Dexter cocaine if he let him go, something Dexter would obviously reject, causing him to desperately threaten to kill Dexter (to absolutely no avail since his fate was already sealed when he tried to escape and give Dexter cocaine).
- While his death was brutal with him getting dismembered by a chainsaw the same way he dismembered Laura, he absolutely deserved it for what he did to Dexter, Brian, Laura, and everyone else he killed and is played for zero sympathy but karmaic satisfaction instead.
