Taka, better known as Scar, is the main antagonist of The Lion King level of Kingdom Hearts II. He is the younger brother of Mufasa and the uncle of Simba. He is based off the character of the same name from Disney's 1994 animated film The Lion King.
He was voiced by James Horan.
What Makes Him A Hate Sink?[]
- He killed his brother, Mufasa, and attempted to kill his nephew, Simba (who was only a cub), via a wildebeest stampede so he could become king of the Pride Lands.
- Under his reign, the Pride Lands became a barren wasteland.
- He attempted to kill Sora and his friends. He also suggested eating them all, including Sora, who was in the form of a teenage cub at the time. To reiterate, he attempted to murder and cannibalize a teenage cub.
- He forced a now-adult Simba into admitting that he was the cause of Mufasa's death, which was not true.
- He attempted to kill Simba as an adult.
- After he became a ghost, he would often haunt Simba.
- He attempted to slaughter everyone in the Pride Lands as a Heartless.
- He attempted to kill his pregnant niece-in-law, Nala, and her friend Pumbaa.
- He attempted to slaughter everyone in the Pride Lands as a giant monster.
- He has complete control of his actions, being able to speak and retain his from. There is no evidence he lost his moral agency as a ghost either.
- He is arguably more heinous than his original incarnation.
- While the official strategy guide mentions his backstory as prince Taka from the story "A Tale of Two Brothers" (later made non-canon by The Lion Guard), his actions are far too atrocious for his belief that he was neglected by his father (mentioned in the book) to remain a sufficient Freudian excuse.
