Sherlock Hooves is a minor antagonist who appears at the near end of Cheerilee's Garden's sequel of Scarlet Harvest, which was written be Unahim.
He is described as an earth pony with a monocle and a brown-coat. Sherlock is also one of the members of the Ace Attorney who was seen in Twilight Sparkle's trial when she was wrongfully accused for Cheerilee's atrocities.
However, he decides to falsely accuse Twilight Sparkle of said crimes and using theories without any proof as a way to have her wrongfully sentenced to execution by Princess Luna.
What Makes Him A Hate Sink?[]
- Sherlock Whooves doesn't allow Twilight Sparkle to explain her side of the story during the trial that Luna set up for her and decides to go his way to accuse Twilight Sparkle of atrocities that Cheerilee had done, even though Twilight Sparkle has been put in despair by Cheerilee and was shown to be in grief over the loss of her friends. This is shown when he immediately assumes that it was Twilight's fault without any actual proof all because the Ponyville residents witnessed Twilight brutally kill Cheerilee. He would also rudely interrupts Twilight when tried to tell him that she had only killed Cheerilee in self-defence.
- He makes up a theory that Twilight started the Ponyville Theater fire, even though the latter admitted that she was with her friends at the time and that Cheerilee was the last one who WAS alone and was the last one to escape from the building when the fire started just because of the strong magic she has, even accusing her of having killed 9 young students, even though she wasn't responsible for it.
- Sherlock Whooves also decides to claim that Cheerilee didn't shouldn't have known that the Everfree Forest existed nor accessed it and that Twilight had a book on the Nightmare Rebellion in her library a while ago as a way to frame Twilight for it, even though Cheerilee has found her way to get there.
- When Sherlock Whooves was reading the parchment that Spike's rushed letter to Celestia, he immediately translated it to Twilight having killed everypony, saying that Spike betrayed Twilight, even though Spike was on the brink of death at the moment when he was writing his letter.
- When Twilight tries to explain about the traps and the secret entrances within the Everfree Forest, he immediately cuts her off, not letting her get a chance to explain herself.
- Sherlock Whooves unfairly has Twilight sentenced as guilty of Cheerilee's crimes just because the latter never stood a chance against Twilight, even though that magic cannot be used inside of the forest.
- When Twilight mentions that she had been stabbed by Cheerilee to the point that she nearly died, Whooves accuses her of lying, even when she later decides to tell him that the Elements of Harmony healed her, even calling Twilight a murderer and not even listening to what she was trying to say.
- His and Princess Luna's actions would lead to causing Twilight to fall even more into despair, as the latter would later decide to kill herself by throwing herself to her death.
- He was never punished for his actions, making him a karma houdini.
- He does not show any comedic moments and is taken seriously throughout.
Trivia[]
- She, aside from the titular main antagonist and Princess Luna, are the only characters in the "Cheerilee's Garden" Dark FanFiction to be considered as Hate Sinks.
- The "Justice Is Served" counterpart of Sherlock Hooves is not approved as a Hate Sink as he is considered as a scapegoat on said version. (as he was burned to death with acid even after he did reveal the truth to Minuette of what Princess Luna was doing and has been shown to be quite remorseful for his actions)
