Shinji Matou is a major antagonist from Fate/Stay Night. He serves as Sakura's abusive brother figure and a pawn of the greater villain known as Zouken Matou.

He was voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya in Japanese. In English, he was dubbed by Doug Erholtz in the 2006 anime and the 2010 movie, with Kyle McCarley playing him in the 2015 anime along with the 2018 movie.

What makes him Hated?

• Despite having a minorly tragic past of being born without magic and being seen as a disappointment by his family (mainly by Zouken), his odious, hot-headed personality and his numerous sex crimes invalidate any sympathy from his tragedy at all.
• He constantly abuses Sakura Matou in a psychological and sexual manner, even going as far as to rape her on a constant basis.
  • To make things worse, he feels no remorse for his actions and won't ever stop abusing Sakura.
• He made forced advances towards Rin.
• He becomes more violent towards Sakura as Zouken tells him that he is more worthless than his father is.
• He attempted to murder Shirou and Saber without much success.
• He blackmailed Sakura by telling Shirou about his history of raping Sakura for the last three years.
• He is a complete coward, crying like a bitch when something bad is going to happen to him like when he nearly falls to his death, or is contorted with magic, he screams like a baby, despite them being punishments that he 100% deserves.
• His death was played with zero sympathy.
• Overall, he has no redeeming qualities and is nothing but a cowardly and egotistical pervert whom has no empathy for any other characters and is one whom lacks any intelligence.
