Shogo Taguchi is a minor antagonist of the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series.
What Makes them Despicable?[]
- While he does have some minor "Evil Are Cool moments" and cool fights outside, of them he very unlikable and not that enjoyable.
- While he didn't like being ordered around by Razen, he only went along with his plan to cause trouble in Rimuru City out of wanting to cause trouble and spite.
- When he saw Rimuru City having much better stuff than Falmuth he got very envious wanting to cause trouble more and though of killing Rimuru when he gets back to have it underestimating the slime’s power.
- When Shion and Shuna intervened he quietly said he will plan on making them his slaves where he would rape them until they beg for mercy before killing them but never got to it.
- While battling Shion that put many civilians in danger including other humans in the city.
- Because he distracted Shion from seeing an child in the area so when he left her when Falmuth's Knights came, that would lead to her being killed.
- Attacked Kaval’s Party out of sadism trying to stop them in the LN which that scene never made it to the Manga nor Anime.
- Was jerkish to Geld calling him, "a fat pig''.
- When he was overwhelmed by Geld he ran to Kirara's tent and killed her by strangling his own ally to awaken Survivor to save his own spine. This would disgust Hakurou and Geld who called him out for his cowardly act.
- When he was beaten to a pulp by Geld he attempt beg and say it was an joke, he would've been killed if not for Razen's intervention.
- His death is not played for sympathy though was different in each adaption was not satisfying due to it being anti-climatic:
- In the LN and Anime Razen destroyed his soul and took his body by claiming it was an healing spell.
- In the Manga Folgen held him down as he beg when Shogo figured it out instead before Razen destroyed his soul.
Trivia[]
- He is the first That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Hate Sink on the Wiki.
- Razen's actions with his body does not count since he is a different character with his body not to mention has too many "Evil Are Cool" moments and redeemed himself.
- His allies can't qualify as Hate Sink as Kirara Mizutani is too tragic to be Hate Sink as while not seen in Manga nor Anime in the Light Novel she had a good life with her parents and boyfriend until Razen summoned her where she was abused and enslaved where it made her jerkish behavior worse, Kyoya Tachibana is more likeable since he has more likeable personality as despite his own sadism, he has some redeeming qualities like his honor and fascination with the Central World.
