Robert Underdunk Terwilliger Jr. better known as Sideshow Bob is the overarching antagonist of the The Simpson's Treehouse of Horror XXXIV in the segment "Ei8ht".
He is an alternate version of his original counterpart who successfully murdered Bart Simpson in the episode "Cape Feare", which would play a role in driving his sister, Lisa, in a mental breakdown.
Like his mainstream counterpart, he was voiced by Kelsey Grammer.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He murdered Bart, A ten year old boy, just because he exposed his plan in the past.
- While the original Sideshow Bob tried to do the same many times, it was often treated as comedic and lighthearted. Here, it is dead serious.
- Him killing Bart left Lisa traumatized and eventually led to her becoming a serial killer with a split-personality disorder.
- Even when Bob finds this out, he doesn't feel any remorse but simply calls it an overused trope.
- When Lisa comes to him looking for help, he simply taunts her about Bart's death. This shows that he's not only a jerk, but that he takes great pride in the fact that he murdered a child.
- While the original Sideshow Bob had several redeeming and sympathetic qualities, none of them are present here.
- While he does have comedic moments, they're all minor and don't make him any less hateable. Even Russ Cargill, who tried to blow up Springfield, has his fair share of lighthearted comedy.
- He screams in horror when Lisa is about to stab him to death, showing that he is a complete coward, unlike his original version.
- His defeat of getting stabbed to death by Lisa, while brutal, is played off as karma and stress relief for him doing the same to Bart.
