Simon Krieger is the overarching antagonist of the 2020 superhero video game Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a spin-off of Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man series.
He is the head of research and development at Roxxon, an energy corporation with a presence throughout New York City. Though Krieger at first appears as an affable and energetic individual, he reveals himself to be a greedy and callous businessman who's seeking profit at the cost of the community in Harlem.
He was voiced and mo-capped by Troy Baker.
What Makes Him a Hate Sink?[]
- He was in charge of the Nuform clean project, in which Nuform was revealed to be harmful, causing life-threatening symptoms such as bone marrow decay. Most members on the team got sick from exposure, including Rick Mason, the actual creator of the energy. When Rick discovered that the energy had dangerous side effects, Simon dismissed his warnings and pushed forward for Nuform's implementation.
- To make things worse, he decided to kill Rick when he and his sister, Phin tried to stop the Nuform reactor. And in an audio recording addressing Rick's death, Krieger made a cruel joke about naming a bench after him, in an attempt to honor his memory. All of this will lead Phin to become the Tinkerer and forming the Underground in her quest to take down Roxxon and Kriger.
- After his introduction to Miles and capturing Rhino, he actually employed the criminal as his enforcer, and then framing Miles as the one who started the destruction of the bridge, nearly getting him killed by the Roxxon security.
- He made a deal with Prowler, who was Miles' uncle Aaron, for information on Miles and Phin as the Tinkerer. After having Rhino to capture both of them, he had his men to torture them for information and when Prowler threatens to expose his crimes for hurting his nephew, Krieger simply states that he will be in jail as well for his past crimes.
- During the fight between Miles and Phin, Krieger taunts both of them that the destruction of Roxxon Plaza will be futile as he will rebuild the entire Harlem under his image.
- Unlike other villains in the series, who is either tragic, have redeeming moments, or a cool villain, Krieger is completely devoid of those, as he is just a greedy scumbag who only cares about advancing his career and will ruin many lives to achieve it.
